Our Student Health Council, a new student-led initiative aimed at providing a voice for students, is running a Student Health Week from 12-16 June.
Year 13 student and co-chairperson Finn Potter (Year 13, Parnell) says that the Student Health Week is an exciting opportunity to promote the importance of health throughout the college. “It will be a great chance for students to experience the multi-dimensions to health that the Council aims to represent.”
Those key dimensions are spiritual health, natural health, physical health, nutrition and mental health. Throughout the week, the College will host events and key speakers, with each day dedicated to promoting a different area of health. The programme for the week includes a student panel on spirituality, a My Kitchen Rules style cook-off and a presentation by guest speaker and comedian Mike King.
The Student Health Council hope that the event will continue on an annual basis at the College and continue to further their aim of providing a voice for students and promoting involvement in decisions and projects that affect the health and wellbeing of our community.
The Student Health Council is made up of one Year 12 and one Year 13 student representative from every House, who advocate on behalf of other students.
