Year 12 and 13 accounting students visited PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) over the last few weeks of June to gain valuable insight from some of our Old Collegians.

Both Year 12 and Year 13 students had the opportunity to meet with Troy Florence, Assurance Partner at PwC and a number of other recent Old Collegians.  . They were able to observe first-hand a professional consultancy firm in action and hear recent graduates talk about their experiences in the formative years of their careers.

HOD of Accounting and Business Studies, Sharon Lafroth says the students appreciated talking with the Old Collegians about their careers, what they enjoy and the wide range of opportunities available to them in a firm such as PwC.

“It was extremely interesting to learn more about the future of Accounting in the digital age, artificial intelligence tools, and why it will be exciting for our students when they join the workforce as this area develops over the next few years.”

The PwC Scholarship Programme available to graduating students in New Zealand offers mentorship and a summer internship which were discussed in detail with the students during their visit.
