The Ski Racing competition is a slalom course, consisting of tight turns that are taken at high speeds. The Slopestyle competition is about jumps, rails and tricks, as skiers are judged on what tricks they can do, for example backflips.
King’s is hoping to send two Ski Race teams of six each and a Slopestyle team of three to the Auckland Championships, as well as down to Mt Ruapehu for the North Island Championships.
There are big hopes for this year's competitions, with great Ski Racers and Slopestylers trialling on Friday.
