On Sunday 6 August, Daniel and his crew won second-place in the Men’s Four final. James also achieved a very commendable fifth place in Men’s Pair final on the same day.

King’s Head of Rowing, Nick Lloyd reported on both races.

“After a solid start, Daniel’s crew found itself in third place behind Great Britain and Romania.  His crew moved past Romania into second place by the 1000m mark,” says Nick.

Despite finishing strong, Daniel’s crew ran out of water to close the gap over Great Britain, resulting in a thrilling second-place win.

Earlier in the day James came fifth in the A final of the Men’s Pair.

“With 500m to go, all three crews stepped up the pace. Turkey ultimately grabbed the bronze, just ahead of New Zealand. It was a fantastic effort,” reports Nick.

Both Daniel and James took part in several challenging heats prior to the finals and their results have been extremely pleasing for our College rowing community.
