The speaker was Reserve Bank Governor Graeme Wheeler who outlined the current economic outlook for the New Zealand economy and presented some key insights into the global economic environment. For the annual competition, run by the Reserve Bank, the team must come to a consensus on its own Monetary Policy decision on interest rates, provide a 10 minute statement and finally engage in a Q&A session.
As the winners in 2015, King’s will look to defend their title in this year’s competition, the Reserve Bank 2016 Monetary Policy Challenge, taking place in June. We wish them all the best.
