Monday 28 March 2016

On Tuesday, 15 March the King’s College Monetary Policy team was invited to attend a Reserve Bank breakfast held at the Northern Club and hosted by the Institute of Directors.

The speaker was Reserve Bank Governor Graeme Wheeler who outlined the current economic outlook for the New Zealand economy and presented some key insights into the global economic environment. We extend our gratitude to Flemming Rasmussen for organising the invitation and for his continuous support of the College.

For the annual competition, run by the Reserve Bank, the team must come to a consensus on its own Monetary Policy decision on interest rates, provide a 10 minute statement and finally engage in a Q&A session.

As the winners in 2015, King’s will look to defend their title in this year’s competition, the Reserve Bank 2016 Monetary Policy Challenge, taking place in June. We wish them all the best.
