On Friday 30 November the King’s College Prizegiving took place at the Holy Trinity Cathedral to a full crowd of students, families, staff and special guests.

Guest speaker Guy Haddleton (Parnell, 1968-72), former SAS troop captain and current information technology entrepreneur, began proceedings with an inspiring speech on his journey from ‘Mr average to extraordinary’. To read his speech in its entirety, please click here.

A special congratulations goes Harsh Talathi (Year 13, Major) who, after receiving the highest academic standard, was presented with the 2018 Dux of King's College award by Headmaster Simon Lamb.

As well as winning this prestigious award, Harsh was also awarded the HT Revel Prize for Chemistry, the St John's/Sam Hanna Prize for Mathematics, the Dodson Memorial Prize for Physics and the Furkett Prize for Practical Work in Physics.

  • Stan Empson Prize (all-round ability, boarder): Claudia Marris
  • Philip Bird Prize (all-round ability): Emily Danesh-Meyer
  • Lloyd Seabrook Memorial Prize for the Arts: Te Arawa Matua
