On Friday, 12 June King's College hosted Members of Parliament for a Political debate which was held at the College during lunchtime.

The MPs were:

National Party: Simon O'Connor
Labour Party: Jacinda Ardern
Green Party: Julie Anne Genter
Maori Party: Marama Fox

Questions on euthanasia, cannabis, the housing crisis and Auckland’s transport problems were put to the four politicians who were then given two minutes per question to answer.

There was a good attendance of around 130 students and staff members, and the students were attentive to the debate that took place.

Thank you to Mr Jim Frood for overseeing the debate and to students Jake McConnell and Dylan Parshotam who organised the event with the other students who make up the Round Square Democracy Pillar Committee.
