King’s students Jonathan Ta (Peart, Year 13), Chen Rong Lu (Peart, Year 12) and Christopher Scholtens (Parnell, Year 13) sang in the Secondary Students Choir.  Also performing were Old Collegians and members of the New Zealand Youth Choir, Max Wilson (Peart,  2012-2016) and Danzel Panama (Peart, 2011-2015) .

Both choirs came together to perform the world premiere of a new piece, Spring Rain.  This was written for them by internationally renowned Latvian composer Eriks Esenvalds and composed by acclaimed conductor, Andre Thomas from the USA.

King’s Music teacher, Chris Artley was in the audience and found the performance truly outstanding.

“The particular highlight was seeing both choirs perform the world premiere by Eriks Esenvalds. Eriks is one of the world’s top composers of choral music so it  was a great honour to have him present,” says Chris.
