Year 13 student Dylan Schmidt is the first New Zealand athlete to win an Olympic medal in trampoline.
Competing on Friday 22 August, the 17-year-old won gold at the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.
His final score of 57.340 beat Liu Changxin from China by a margin of 0.405 points, and he received the final's joint highest score for both difficulty and execution.
Trampoline is Dylan's true passion; it's what he has always wanted to do. He has been training extremely hard and is so happy with this incredible achievement.
A big congratulations to Dylan! The King's community is extremely proud of you!
