Recent Old Collegian Max Hardy (Peart, 2012-2016) was awarded the 'Top Subject Scholarship Award' for Geography on Wednesday 3 May at an NZQA ceremony held at Parliament in Wellington.

Hardy, 2016 House Sacristan, Prefect and captain of the College’s Writing Club while he was at King’s, was also the recipient of an 'Outstanding Scholar Award' earlier in the year and a CIE award for Top in the Country in Classics. He has been offered a position at the University of Cambridge in England to study Classics.

“I wasn't sure if I should enter for the Geography Scholarship Exam but I took the opportunity and worked hard, and it turned out well in the end,” says Max.

“It’s a good lesson for any students interested in achieving success, and applies to more than just scholarships. Work hard and take advantage of the opportunities available and you will succeed.”
