The winning piece, Love Came Down at Christmas, is Artley’s setting of the Christina Rossetti poem and will now be performed by the Freudig Singers of Western New York later in the year. The piece was originally written for the King's College Chapel Choir and was premiered at the College in December 2016.
Earlier this month, the New Zealand Youth Choir performed another prize-winning piece from Chris - Angus Dei, at a concert on Waiheke Island.
This piece won third prize in the inaugural International Choral Composition Competition Japan in 2015.
We wish Chris congratulations and look forward to hearing more about his musical success in the future.
