Attending the festival on Thursday 24 May, students joined in on a question and answer session with the co-director of ‘Big in Japan’ David Elliot-Jones, who shed light on his filmmaking experience in Japan.
This was then followed by a session of short ‘coming of age’ documentaries where the students engaged with a variety of styles and narratives.
“It was a very worthwhile learning experience outside the classroom and introduced students to a range of new themes,” says teacher in charge of Media Studies and Visual Arts, Jasmine Johnson.
