Monday 23 March 2015

King’s College rowers took part in the Maadi opening parade through Cambridge on Sunday.  The early mornings and hard sessions seemed long forgotten as they proudly carried the flag for their school alongside competitors from around the country.

Racing officially began on Monday, 23 March and King’s had an excellent start with our Under-18 4x+ winning their heat and qualifying for the A Finals. The team comprised Nick Yan (Cox), Tom Brown (Stroke), Ollie Maclean, James Witters and Matt Ganley (Captain of Boats).

Two of our pairs are off to their respective quarter finals and our Boys Under-16 4x+ were third in their heat.

Our crews still a full week of intense racing.  There will be 52 classes of events at the regatta, featuring 1468 boats.

There are four age-group categories, Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 - and a range of boat classes including singles, pairs, doubles, fours, quads and eights.

We wish all our rowers continued success and look forward to hearing their news.
