Being presented with the 'Excellence in Social Enterprise' prize, Max delivered an excellent acceptance speech on behalf of both himself and Finnley who is currently in Ecudaor on a school trip.
As part of their award, the boys received a $1,000 cash prize which will be put towards their 'Let Them Fish' project to ensure its continued success.
The idea of 'Let Them Fish' arose after Finnley holidayed in Fiji and witnessed what gear the locals used for fishing - just a few nylon lines and lures, so the pair came up with the idea to collect Kiwis' unused fishing gear and ship it to the Fijians.
Collection bins are located around tackle stores in Auckland, and the boys have already sent one lot to Fiji.
Although collecting second hand gear does not cost anything, shipping it to Fiji does, so if you would like to support the scheme please visit www.letthemfish.org.nz for more infomation.
A big congratulations to Finnley and Max for this fantastic achievement; for being recognised at a National level.
