We’ve been working hard here at King's College rehearsing our singing, dancing and acting to present you with our latest piece of musical theatre for 2016 – Urinetown.

KC Drama 16 001

We’ve been developing the show and discovering new layers to this brilliant musical. We’d love to introduce to you our two young leads: Findlay McLachlan, who plays Bobby Strong, and Lily Powell, who plays Hope Cladwell.

The talented cast is looking forward to sharing this year’s musical romp with you, and looks forward to seeing you in the King's College Great Hall on Wednesday, 6, Thursday, 7 or Friday, 8 April at 7.30pm.

What's Urinetown all about?

A terrible water shortage in a huge metropolis has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. What if our lifestyles are not as sustainable as we’d like to think they are? Don’t worry, “Urine Good Company”! This TONY award-winning musical is a hilarious satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, municipal politics… and musical theatre itself.

Praised for its outrageous perspective and wickedly funny wit, no one is safe from scrutiny as this meta-musical shines an irreverent spotlight on wastefulness and greed, the growing disparity between rich and poor, and climate change issues that affect us all today.
