As part of her role as Miss Pacific Islands, Old Collegian Latafale Auva'a has been running the 'Books in Samoa' appeal in New Zealand to encourage literacy in Samoa.

The appeal was a request for all well-conditioned secondhand books to give to primary school aged children in Samoa to assist with their reading.

King's College got right behind this appeal, asking every student at the school to bring in at least one children's book to support this great cause.

The College has been absolutely delighted and overwhelmed by the response, with the number of books collected far exceeding our expectations.

Thank you to everyone who supported this project, and continues to support the King's College Chapel outreach appeals.
