Kobe Purchase 440 NISS 2021

On the Sunday, Will McAteer, Reilly Fortune-Harris, and Oli Fisher competed in age-grouped XC (cross-country) races with the best result being Oli in the U-20 category, with a 10th place finish.

Mataia Cotterill NISS 440 2021

On Monday and Tuesday King’s riders had their first foray into mountain bike enduro and downhill events. In the enduro, Kobe Purchase, Mataia Cotterill, George Wallace, Will Crawford, and Max Stening had a great day in the heat and dust amongst 250 riders. Competing over three timed stages down some steep single-track trails with only a few minor crashes the team went well for its first competition. Kobe Purchase was our highest placer coming in 6th in the U-16 category.

The Downhill Racing on Tuesday took things up a notch. The enduro team were joined by Sam Harrison and William Hall for the DH which was run down some very steep sections of forest and out over a jump line to the finish.  Kobe Purchase was again the top-placed King’s rider in his category, closely followed by George Wallace. Thumbs up to Will Hall for borrowing some gear and completing his first DH race!

Special thanks to Patrick McAteer and Miles Purchase who managed the team over the 3 race days and ensured that riders were well supported throughout.
