Competition at this year's Polyfest was fierce, and the boys were able to experience being in amongst the strongest talent of Auckland and the country.

Kingspolyfest 05

We placed 7th overall out of the 15 schools that performed. Although we didn’t make it through to the nationals, we didn’t walk away empty handed.

We placed 3rd in the choral item and 2nd in the mau rākau section.

With a group that is 80% first timers to the stage, the boys did an awesome job. The boys have trained hard, and now know how hard they need to work for next time.

The support from the school community was just amazing. Our supporters took up the whole bus parking space while waiting for the boys to come out and it spoke volumes. Feedback from judges, the audience and other tutors has been great.

I would like to thank all the boys for putting in the work and efforts over the nine weeks we have had to prepare. I look forward to the future of King’s College Kapa Haka.
