This weekend's top of the table clash between King's College and Mangere College ended in deadlock at 3 tries apiece.

King’s had a strong start with Moses Puru and Ciarahn Matoe combining well for a midfield try. Unforced errors were costly with a beautiful back-door move putting Edward Vaeau-Mulitalo into huge space. Unfortunately he was unable to make the final pass to wing, Ray Lim. Some strong driving by Mangere College led to opportunities and the King’s players found themselves trailing by one try with only minutes left. An opportunistic back flip pass from Moses Puru was tipped on by Leo Roa into the grateful hands of Millennium Sanarevi's for the draw.

The second game against the unbeaten Otahuhu College mixed team started slowly again until Edward Vaeau-Mulitalo scored a length of the field runaway with some fine deception. The 2-1 lead at half-time was a reflection of how average our attack had been, but the players banded together and ran their own team-talk and were rewarded with an outstanding second half, scoring 6 tries and totally dominating proceedings.

King’s is equal top after five games and looking good for qualifying for Regional Championships.
