Year 9 student Zane Powell (Peart), who continues to impress in Triathlon and Athletics, won the junior boys event, coming from behind in the swim, to win the competition with a minute’s lead.

Our Intermediate boys team of Year 11 students, runner James Archibald (Selwyn) and swimmer Dylan Brooke (Selwyn), gained a silver medal on the day.

Year 11 student Annabelle McLaren (Taylor), competed in her first school race of the year, finishing mid-field in her event.

King’s will be sending its senior girls team to Whanganui to defend their National Triathlon Title on Thursday 30 March.

“2017 is proving to be an impressive year for our multisport programme,” says Ro Bairstow, Teacher in Charge of Multisport at King’s.

“It’s great to see the success of some of our younger athletes - there is plenty of promise and potential, which we hope to develop into further successes for the College.”
