King’s were a strong presence at the Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Championship at Barry Curtis Park on Thursday 8 June.

Despite several of our key runners being disadvantaged due to injury and sickness, our students battled through and gaps in our squad provided opportunities for some of our other runners to take part.

Junior student Zane Powell (Year 9, Peart) came an impressive place in the individual junior race. Our junior three man team also came in 3rd, whilst our six man team placed 2nd.

Our intermediate three man team of James Wharton (Marsden), George Carr Smith (Marsden), Eddie Day (Averill) also secured  3rd place, whilst Senior students, Brooke Varney (Middlemore), Claudia Marris (Middlemore) and Estafana Fowler (Taylor) placed 4th. George Cory Wright (School) and Charlie Knox (Greenbank) alongside Varney were all placed in the top 10, in 4th, 9th and 10th, respectively.

Congratulations to all our students who took part in the Championship and the College wishes you all the best in your future running endeavours.
