On Saturday, 21 February the King's sailing team of Henry Haslett, Jeremy Schoeller, Jordan Stevenson and Marco Hull came 2nd equal in the qualifying round of the Harken Schools Regatta.
This secured sailing in the Gold Fleet the following day, on Sunday, 22 February. They sailed against Hutt Valley International School, Kristin School, Saint Kentigern College, Auckland Grammar School, Albany Senior High School, Rangitoto College, Westlake Boys' High School and St Cuthbert's College. Skippers from several of these schools are all top NZ sailors.
The team did not perform as well as they'd hoped on the Sunday, with very light winds and tough competition, so placed 10th out of 10 teams.
Overall the team came 10th out of 19 teams, so it was a satisfactory regatta.
