King’s students Oliver Maclean (Rowing), Moses Puru (Touch) and Jasmin Kolasinac (Waterpolo) were nominated as finalists in their specialist sports.

Oliver Maclean received College Sport Male Rower of the Year Award for the Auckland region, whilst fellow Year 13 student Moses Puru took out the Touch category. Maclean says he feels honoured to receive the award and the recognition it shows for the hard work of the coaching staff at King’s.

“Rowing is a tremendous sport, which I would encourage anyone to try – it has been life enhancing for me.”

King’s Head of Sport Jim Potts says this is a significant achievement by these students and is a worthy reward for the hard work and dedication that they have shown to their respective sports.

“To be nominated as a finalist is an achievement in itself, but to win the category in these two different sports is a huge honour for both the students and the College."
