Conducted by Peter Thomas, this work is just over twenty minutes in length and has been shortlisted for the semi-finals of the Maurice Ravel International Composition Competition, Live Orchestra category.
Peter Thomas, Director of Auckland Symphony Orchestra and Director of Music at Epsom Girls School, writes: “I have just finished reading the completed score of Missa Brevis by Chris Artley. I must say that I am very proud to be the one who invited Chris to compose this work for Choir, Organ and Orchestra. It’s a beautiful composition and I am really looking forward to rehearsing and performing it.”
