On Tuesday 21 March, a group of our student athletes competed at the Auckland Athletics Championships. With strong performances throughout the day, King’s were able to come away with five gold medals, eight silver medals and three bronze medals.
Year 9 student Zane Powell (Peart), who recently broke multiple school records at our House Athletics, won the junior boys 3000m and 1500m.
Other highlights included Year 9 student Troy Faiva (Peart), Year 11 student Judda Turahui (St John’s) and Year 12 student Jackson Wilcock (Peart) who won gold medals in the Javelin, Triple Jump and High Jump, respectively.
Head of Sport Jim Potts says this is a really pleasing set of results from our Athletes.
“We have a rich crop of talent coming through the college at the moment and it is exciting to see them performing at this level. Many of our students have been rewarded with selection for Auckland at the North Island Championships and it will be interesting to see what they can achieve at this next level of competition."
