The King’s Cycling Club are culminating their fantastic season at the end of this month with the nationals in Christchurch. The 11 squad riders will be racing Team Time Trials, Road Race and Criterium Points race on 29 September - 1 October.

We also wish Theo Gilbertson (Year 13, Greenbank) the very best in his bid to win the UCI Junior Men’s Road Race in Austria for New Zealand on 27 September.

Following the Nationals, Cycling at King’s will be on break until we resume late in Term 1, 2019. We hope to grow the squad by encouraging new-comers into this sport in Term 4 with a house event as well as making a visit to King’s School on a promotional visit.

“We have riders from Years 9-13 and are hoping to grow this squad to more than 20. Cycling is a physically demanding activity for people who are after an aerobically challenging sport which can be maintained throughout a lifetime (not just during school years),” says Teacher-in-Charge of Cycling, Brian Nguyen.
