King's College is excited to announce the First XV squad for the 2017 season of Rugby.
Our boys were presented their jerseys at the First XV Season Launch held at Bayleys Real Estate on Wednesday 3 May.
Students who attended, alongside their Parents and Guardians, were treated to an address from guest speaker Sir Graham Henry.
We’d like to thank Bayleys Real Estate and their Board of Directors' Chairman and Old Collegian, Mr John Bayley for their support of Rugby at King’s.
Head of Rugby at King’s College, Tasesa Lavea, notes that this is a younger squad, containing six players from Year 11.
“There is plenty of room for development with this team, and our pre-season matches against Otago Boys’ High School and Hastings Boys’ High School were a great opportunity and learning experience for our younger players and acted as a refresher for our more experienced players,” says Tasesa.
“We have some great leaders and plenty of experience in the squad. Hayes Okesene (Head of House, Peart) is an excellent pick for Captain.”
