The Boys' First XI Hockey team went down 2-1 to arch rivals Auckland Grammar School in the final of the Auckland Secondary Schools Championship tonight.

Despite scoring first through Daniel Easton in only the third minute, a defensive error allowed Grammar to equalise shortly afterwards. King’s dominated the rest of the first half, but paid dearly for its failure to convert its territory and possession into goals.

In the second half, Grammar added a second and King’s failed to fire.

A big congratulations to Oliver Paterson who achieved his hundredth cap for the Boys' First XI in this game.
