On Wednesday 5 July Rita Shasha (Head Girl, Middlemore) and Sam Lowe (Head Boy, St John’s) attended the Otahuhu Rotary Luncheon to speak to the wider Otahuhu community about life at King’s.

130717 Head Girl And Head Boy Talk To Otahuhu Community About College Life

Rita says the experience was really enjoyable and it was a pleasure to discuss how students are able to give back to the local community.

“We mainly spoke about community service at the College, the amazing programmes we offer through the chapel and how this aligns with the service work of Rotary.”

In turn, Rita and Sam were able to learn more about what the Otahuhu Rotary Club does and how it operates on a district and world-wide level.

Having our student leaders’ meet with the Club members provides a great opportunity for our students to further the ties we have with the Club whilst also staying informed on what’s happening in our wider community.

The College enjoys an on-going relationship with the Otahuhu Rotary Club through the Roger Bartley Memorial Scholarship established by the College with the family of Dr Roger Bartley and the Rotary Club of Otahuhu.
