It was a successful rugby season for Grace Freeman (Year 12, Taylor), who, as a part of the College Rifles team, has won the Premier Women’s Rugby division and the Coleman Shield.

"Marist is by far our biggest rival and it was great to come out on top, as they had won last year," says Grace.

This result was confirmed after a nail-biting final match against Marist on Saturday 4 August, with the College Rifles coming out on top with 22-18.

Grace, who has been trialling for the women’s Auckland Storm/Auckland Thunder development squad, is thrilled with the result and the hard work her team put in this season.

"I have been playing rugby with College Rifles since the start of the year when I moved to New Zealand," says Grace. "College Rifles has a great culture, I have really enjoyed my first season with them and I look forward to next."
