Tim’s 7 for 33 is the best ever one day score for a Kiwi and the third best in history for a world cup match. It was the highlight of an outstanding match which the BLACKCAPS owned from the outset against the English side.
England won the toss and opted to bat, but failed to cope with the guile of Southee's swing.
As usual, Southee was not afraid to pitch it up - when the Kiwi pacer came out he wreaked havoc in the English ranks. His deliveries were described as a spellbinding exhibition of bowling.
Congratulations to Tim and the whole BLACKCAPS side - we’ll be with you all the way.
