It was a fast-paced game where King’s was able to sneak out to a handy lead early on in the game. The Gisborne defence was resolute and made short work of any King’s players that decided to come sniping around the ruck.
The King’s forward pack showed renewed strength which needed to happen after losing to Otago Boys two weeks earlier. They were able to hold their own against a much larger pack. The King’s backs found their groove and started running in some beautiful tries.
The final score was 48-18 to King’s. This was one of the more convincing wins we have had over Gisborne in recent years but they are a strong Super 8 School and will no doubt bounce back to have a great season.
