The Year 12 team, who consisted of Danuja Thilakaratne (Year 12, Marsden), Rita Shasha (Year 12, Middlemore), Tom Yates (Year 12, St John's), Giorgio Antoci (Year 12, Marsden) and Jonathan Ta (Year 12, Peart), were tied equal with the St Mary’s College Year 13 team at the end of 13 rounds.
Thilakaratne then had a face off sudden-death tie-breaker question: “How many Olympic medals were won by the French team at Rio?” St Mary’s went first, answering 36. Thilakaratne opted for 40 and won the trophy for King’s with his guess being closest to the answer of 42.
The Year 13 team consisted of: Michael Daya-Winterbottom (Year 13, Marsden), Max Hardy (Year 13, Peart), Amay Aggarwal (Year 13, Peart) and Hye-Song Goo (Year 13, Taylor) who came in at 4th place.
