Geneva took part in the Russell McVeagh Auckland Regional Debating Championships held at Auckland Grammar School on Sunday, 20 March. The New Zealand Schools’ Debating Council works to promote debating in secondary schools around the country and is a non-profit organisation sponsored by Russell McVeagh.
There are approximately 150 Premier level debaters in Auckland, most of them in Year 13, and Geneva has made it from Year 12 into the highest level. She will be competing as part of the Auckland White team in the National Finals to be held in Wellington in May, with team members Zachary Wong of Macleans College and Karan Kalsi of Lynfield College.
