Thursday 13 April 2017

The College has decided to close early today at 10am as opposed to 12.30pm. Our End of Term Assembly has been cancelled and we are advising students to leave the College as early as possible. Due to the late notice, we understand that parents and guardians may be unable to make it to the College early. We will ensure our students are safe in their Houses until their parents are able to collect them.

This is a precautionary measure following Emergency Services and MetService warnings that Cyclone Cook will reach Auckland at midday.

This decision has been made out of concern for the safety of our students, staff, parents and guardians.

Our main concerns are the oak trees and the impact the strong winds may have on them, and our students being affected by the train line closures. We also want to avoid as much as possible our community driving in and out of the College and on Auckland roads during this extreme weather event.

If parents and guardians are unable to make it to the College early, we will ensure our students are safe in their Houses until their parents are able to collect them.

I thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Stay safe,
Simon Lamb
Headmaster
