On Thursday, 14 May King's Clay Target Shooters competed at the Murray Lake Memorial Shoot at Taupo Gun Club.

Headed by Captain of Shooting Baden Mannering, two teams travelled to Taupo to participate in this annual event.

The conditions were far from ideal, as it was cold, with wind and rain making it difficult to aim properly.

Despite this, the shooters posted solid scores, with the King's A team coming 4th out of 31 teams competing.

Robert Wallace came 6th individually, out of 185 shooters, dropping only two points in the entire competition.

Of the 10 students who went down to Taupo, four managed to pull off a ‘perfect’, in which all 20 targets in the single rise were hit successfully. The four students to do this were Robert Wallace, Andrew Reeves, Tom Reeves and Baden Mannering.

Congratulations to the students for these fantastic results.
