The three King’s choirs, All The King’s Men; The Chapel Choir; and Le Coeur des Rois, competed against 67 other choirs for selection in the National Finale.
The results for the Auckland Festival were superb. All The King’s Men received a Highly Commended award, and The Chapel Choir and Le Coeur des Rois both received Commended awards.
King’s College also received several other awards. The Chapel Choir was awarded a trophy for the best performance of a New Zealand work by a choir not in the previous year’s National Finale for their performance of Dunedin composer Anthony Ritchie’s Song.
All The King’s Men also received a special mention for the 'Best Male Voice Choir'.
The choirs selected for the Nationale Finale will be announced in due course.
Thanks must go to Mr Nicholas Forbes, Mrs Gina Sanders, Mr Chris Artley as well as Ms Claire Scholes, Mr Steven Rapana and Ms Helen Acheson for their hard work with the choirs and congratulations for their very good results.
