Never a night to disappoint, Big House Music was once again a huge success, entertaining a 4000-strong crowd at Spark Arena on Friday 25 May.

Taking the top spot and the Big House Trophy was Averill, with their rendition of ‘Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car’ by Billy Ocean. With their fun costumes and high energy, this was one of the crowd favourites on the night.

Close behind in second place was Major with Dragon’s ‘April Sun in Cuba’, who also gave it their all on stage. Third place was Greenbank with Frankie Vallie and the Four Season's 'December 1963 (Oh What a Night)'.

A week earlier, Marsden won warm up event, Small House Music, performing “I’m Outta Love’ by Anastacia. This win gave the House enough points to be named the Overall Champions for 2018, after coming fourth place in Big House with their take on the King of Pop’s ‘Thriller’.

Head of Cultural Programmes, Bridget White, says once again the competition was fierce and there were some very impressive performances on the night.

Congratulations to all the winning Houses and House Music Captains, and to all the students for their effort and commitment. Big thanks to all the staff who contributed to making the event a resounding success, in particular Bridget White, Glenn Howell and the Housemasters for their contribution to the event. Thanks also goes out to the Friends committee for once again supporting this great event.
