Always a special occasion, this event is the first opportunity to welcome new parents/guardians to the College community and introduce them to key members of our staff, including Housemasters.
The evening included introductions from our Headmaster Simon Lamb, the Chairman of the Board of Governors Ross Green, Deputy Head in Pedagogy Melissa Irving and President of the Old Collegians’ Association Terry Gould. The new parents and guardians also got to meet representatives of the Friends Association and learn about the various initiatives they are involved in throughout the year.
On arrival, the guests were split via House groups, presenting a great insight into our College House culture while also providing the opportunity to meet Housemasters, tutors and current students.
“It was great to meet our Housemaster again and the senior boys who will be helping my son transition to the College next year,” says one Greenbank mum. “It was also great to meet fellow parents and learn more about the wider King’s community available to our son.”
With a delicious array of canapés and refreshments available throughout the evening and gymnasium full of King’s College community, the Welcome Evening was the perfect outset to life at King’s for our new families starting in 2018.
