Some of the College’s most talented singers will be performing a new work by New Zealand composer, Kenneth Young, with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra on Wednesday, 4 March at the beautiful Auckland Town Hall.

Based on words from great writers across the ages, Young’s piece, In Paradisum is combined with visuals by multimedia artist Tim Gruchy. It is a vision of a world where our relationship with the environment – and water in particular – allows us to “sit by a river” and “find peace and meaning in the rhythm of the lifeblood of the Earth” (to quote from the text of the piece).

Our singers, who are performing as part of the Graduate Choir, include Max Wilson, Denzel Panama and Catherine Fu.  Old Collegians Danny McDougall and Sam Goodwin are also in the Choir. The solo soprano in this concert is Patricia Wright, who teaches Singing at King’s College.
