Strutting to a full crowd in the Chapel on Thursday night, students and staff modelled popular brands down the catwalk to raise money for Sweet Louise, a charity that supports those suffering from secondary breast cancer.

The student-led event raised a whopping $6,031. Well done to Mary Weatherall (Year 13, Taylor) and the Taylor committee who have worked very hard to make the night possible.

Mary Weatherall reports on a great night:

“The Taylor House Fashion Show was a great success. The night began with a packed dining hall full of hustle and bustle. Special mention to Hannah Jensen and her team who raised an astounding amount via their selling of five various raffles at the pre-drinks. The fashion show itself followed- beginning with Philippa Reed; the CEO of Sweet Louise offering some insight into the work Sweet Louise does. It is truly such an amazing charity, offering support to those who need it most.

The showcase of clothing was an exhilarating experience for all involved. The exuberant crowd helped set the tone for the models who all walked with such poise and grace. The gravitas of the chapel was on full-display with the help of Glen Howell and his crafty lighting fixtures. I am so appreciative of all nine brands who lent us their clothing; without their generosity the night would not have been possible. Also, a massive thank you to the members of the King’s community who supported the event whether in attendance, or the purchasing of raffles.

Finally, thank you to all the girls’ of the Taylor Committee and Taylor Staff; I could not have done it without your dedication and support. The show in its entirety was a team effort, and it truly goes to show the strength of team-work. Overall we raised $6,031. Myself, and the Taylor committee are so pleased with this end result and want to thank all those involved.”
