Careers Director: Wendy Carey, BA LLB.Dip.Sec.Tchg. Grad.Cert. Career Development

Our Careers Director, Wendy Carey, has a broad career background, as an English teacher, and then as a solicitor. Drawing on her teaching and legal experience, and her on-going keen interest in Career Development, as well as her time as a mother of three daughters, all of whom are now pursuing their careers, Wendy is able to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work at King's. She is a professional member of the Career Development Association of New Zealand – CDANZ, the Career Development Association of Australia,  CDAA as well as the 'Career Planning and Adult Development Network USA'

Maintaining collaborative networks and strong relationships with the tertiary institutions, is a very important aspect of Wendy's role, as well as frequently attending professional development workshops, seminars and conferences, to keep up-to-date with the ever-changing world of work and careers.

She has a special interest in career development theory and practice and endeavours to offer the best in career assessment and guidance for senior students, using a range of resources including the New Zealand authored Career Dynamic and My ChoicesMatch programmes.

 

Careers Coordinator: Tracey Butchers, BA, DipBusMgmt. Grad.Cert. of Education (Career Counselling)

With a background in HR and administration, Tracey has worked at King’s for the last four years in several areas, before electing to specialise in the Careers Centre. In her role as Careers Coordinator she values the importance of developing effective career management skills, to enable students to successfully progress through the College.

With her two adult children recently graduated from university and now employed in graduate roles, Tracey has a breadth of knowledge and experience in supporting and encouraging our students’ confident and informed transition to tertiary study. She is a professional member of CDANZ.
