Te Puna Whaiora, our Health Centre, located between School House and Greenbank House, offers a 24-hour, 7-day a week service for boarding students and the care of day students during College hours.

Te Puna Whaiora is an integrel component of the comprehensive pastoral care service delivered at the College. Our experienced registered nurses work alongside the Counselling, Positive Education and Chapel teams to improve the hauora and wellbeing of our community. 

Our school nursing team uses evidence-based practice in all assessment, treatment and planning of health care provided to our students. They focus on a holistic approach to health including physical, emotional and spiritual health needs. Our nurses are skilled in educating students on health promotion and health prevention while providing tools to enable a positive health journey while at King’s College and beyond.

College Doctor

Our College doctor is available before school for boarding students and is on-call during business hours Monday to Friday. Our 24-hour service is covered by the nursing team.

Physiotherapy
Physio Rehab Group

The Health Centre also provides an onsite physiotherapy service, led by Sarah Fanuatanu from Physio Rehab group. Sarah’s team of qualified physiotherapists provide expert assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for students on a booked appointment basis after school hours at the Health Centre. A student must have permission from a parent or guardian to see a school physiotherapist. Simply call, text or send an email to the nursing team to confirm this permission. 

Prices:

$20 surcharge for each treatment under ACC

$40 Non-ACC appointment

All appointments are 20 minutes in duration and charged to the parent/legal guardian account. 

Cancellation and non-attendance policy: 

To be fair to other students, please advise the school nurse at least three hours prior to your appointment if you are unable to make it. Non-attendance charges are as follows:

First non-attendance: warning and no charge 
Second and subsequent non-attendance: $40 fee
