Head of Department: Mr David Ward, DipPE, High Cert of TESSOL, DipTchg This is a cross-curriculum programme and gives support and instruction in the four basic strands of language - reading, writing, listening and speaking - or may extend to particular study skills like research and interpreting examination questions. Year 9 students are withdrawn from Social Studies so have either three or four periods per week; other students have time as required on a regular or informal basis. Time is spent on New Zealand and supporting the students in a new educational environment. ESOL - Year Ten This is a cross-curriculum programme and gives support and instruction in the four basic strands of language - reading, writing, listening and speaking - or may extend to particular study skills like research and interpreting examination questions. Year 10 students are withdrawn from Modules so have either three or four periods per week; Classes focus on students individual needs with work in these subject areas.
