Curriculum Guide
IntroductionThe aim of this Guide is primarily to give parents and students a clear outline of the academic programme offered at King's College. It contains details of the College's streaming and order grades system, the range of subject options, the internal and external examination pattern and guidelines for entry into Years 11, 12 and 13. The College offers both NCEA and CIE courses. As well as a description of NCEA and CIE, the Guide also provides a brief description of all academic subjects offered and their inter-relationship with specific career directions. In general, we encourage students to retain a broad range of subjects for as long as possible. Parents should talk to the Housemaster or Tutor responsible for their son's or daughter's progress if they have any queries whatsoever regarding subject choice for the following year. This process begins at Staff/Parent meetings in Terms 1 and 2, prior to students having to choose their options for the following year in Term 3. |
