ITINERANT COMMUNICATION & DRAMA TUITION

Group or individual itinerant classes in communication, drama and speech are offered at King’s College during school hours.

The department works on a 5 day timetable which means that students operating on a 6 day academic timetable rarely miss the same lesson twice in one term. Participants from Years 12 and 13 can usually be assigned before school or lunchtime slots.

Tuition incorporates:-

                  Clarity and energy in communication

                  Confidence in interpersonal exchanges

                  Oral presentation skills, combined with target

                   audience analysis

                  Effective listening ability, leading to oral

                   summaries

                  Reading aloud for context and impact

                  All drama techniques including characterization, improvisation, movement and gesture, verse

                  speaking, text exploration, etc.

Students are given the choice of entering Trinity Guildhall London or New Zealand Speech Board examinations up to Diploma level or just benefitting from extended exposure to these important life skills.
