Mark Your Diary Spectacular House Music - Friday 06 August, 2010 at 7. 00pmHouse Music Ticket Orders 2010There has always been a great demand by parents to attend the House Music competition, particularly, when all students take part in the Big House Music Competition. Following on from the successful House Music event held at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre over the last four years, I am happy to announce that we are going to repeat the exercise again this year. As you are aware students have asked for the Small House Competition to be held at school in order to re-capture some of the unique camaraderie and spirit as it used to be, when held in the Great Hall. Unfortunately, this precludes any attendance by parents at the Small House Competition held in school time, because of OSH consideration. The College will hold the Big House Music Competition on Friday, 6 August at 7 pm in the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre, 770-834 Great South Road in Manukau City and any member of the wider King’s family may purchase tickets to attend the event. Regrettably, ticket prices have had to be increased after having been kept fixed for several years. Tickets now cost $30 for adults and $25 for non-King’s College students under the age of 15. Please note that booking fees may apply. Naturally, current King’s College students enter free of charge. Ticket purchases will be handled solely by TelstraClear Pacific and not the College. Bookings open on 1 July 2010. There is a general admission policy in operation so specific seats will not be reserved. Please note that as a result of changes to the student seating arrangements and the stage, a portion of the seating has been designated as restricted viewing. Seating in this area is $20.00 General admission tickets can be purchased from 1 July on line at www.ticketdirect.co.nz or by phoning 0800 224 224 or by visiting any Ticket Direct outlet. Book on line at www.ticketdirect.co.nz , print your own ticket and avoid transaction fees. There are a limited number of tickets available and they will be sold on a first come first served basis. Please note that parking at the venue costs $4.00. The College looks forward to hosting you at this exciting and competitive event.
About House Music Each year, there is an opportunity for all students to perform on stage as part of the House Music Competition; a large event at the Telstra Stadium in Manukau. It is a colourful spectacle as Houses fiercely compete for Big House and Small House honours. It is a fantastic opportunity not only to showcase our talented students, but it is also a chance to celebrate loyalty and camaraderie within the Houses. In 2006, judges included Mike Chunn (Split Enz) and Jordan Luck and in 2007 the judge was Tim Beveridge. In 2009 the judges were Jacqui Wright, John Bean and Stuart Sherwood
