About the Friends
The Association of the Friends of King’s CollegeThe main aims of The Friends’ Association are to fund and friend raise for the College. The Friends’ Committee organise a number of events during the year for parents, friends and students. In 2010 these included the Art Sale, the Ladies Luncheon, ‘A Night in New York' party, the Headmaster's Garden Party (the night before sports day in February), the Saturday winter sports cafe, and the student photography competition. Profits raised from Friends’ events are used to support a wide range of both long and short-term projects, which benefit current and future students. In 2010, The Friends donated over $300,000 to the College to projects such as the Chapel Close Campaign, the Musician and Artist-in-residence programmes, House Music, and the photography competition as well as funding equipment for the ski team, a coach boat for the Rowing Club, Honours Boards for Houses, drinking fountains and financial support for the King's Courier and the Winter Ball.
Planning for 2011 events is already underway - we are very keen to hear from anyone who would like to help either by donating time, goods or sponsorship with any of the events listed below. Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the life of the College and meet new people.
We look forwards to meeting you at one of our events this year. 2011/2012 Committee Mike Caulton (President)
