AcademicsCongratulations to all Year 11-13 of 2009 for outstanding IGCSE and AS Level Marks. Special recognition to Christopher Sadler, in his auspicious achievement in receiving 7A* grades, a feat matched only by a few. Well done to Chris, for a well-deserved achievement. John Choi and Megan Paterson, both Year 13, deserve acknowledgment for their stellar efforts in achieving 5 A grades and 4 A grades in AS respectively, an achievement that reflects both their hard work, dedication and organisation to academics, especially since John has commitments to other aspects of King’s College’s Cultural programme. Congratulations to Chris Sadler, Megan Paterson and John Choi for representing Major house so well, and best wishes for 2010 to be as good a year as 2009.SportSwimming SportsRecognition must be given to those who put a tremendous effort for Major at Swimming Sports especially the stand-out performers Jaehwan Kim with two 1st positions and Scott Walker with four 1st positions. Special mention must go to Scott Walker for taking out the Senior Championship. Congratulations Jaehwan and Scott. Major appreciates your efforts in this field of sports. Thanks must go to the Year 13 for their organization and to all Major House spectators for your overall behaviour. Athletics- Major’s commitment and dedication to Athletics has been evident these past few years, however in 2010, Major impressed with their efforts, commitment and the contributions from all participants, who were not only a credit to the house , but also to themselves. Acknowledged performances include: Junior: William McGuire (7th), Jack Sheratt (15th), Paul Meech (19th), Luke Paterson (21st) Intermediate: Ben Moynihan (2nd), Tom Monnery (12th), Henry Newell (13th), Nick Gunn (14th) Senior: Nathan Lockey (11th) Girls: Jenni Scott (1st), Jamie McDell (7th), Georgie Sutherland (16th), Megan Paterson (18th) Congratulations to all those who gained a position, especially Jenni Scott, who was named Girls' Champion for 2010. Congratulations Jenni and good luck for the rest of 2010 CulturalThis year’s Senior Drama, Arthur Miller’s, 'A View from the Bridge' amalgamated all the themes of love, lust, deception, morality and reputation into one play that consumed all those who went to admire the hard work, dedication and focus applied by the whole cast. Recognition must be given to Jacob Mills of Major, whose outstanding job at playing Marco reflects Jacob’s passion and skill for the arts. Well done Jacob.
