Old Collegian Crowned Miss Samoa NZ

Miss Samoa NZ Contestant 2014

Old Collegian Latafale Auva'a (Taylor, 2010-11) has recently been crowned Miss Samoa New Zealand.

The Pacific Events & Entertainment Trust Board and the Miss Samoa New Zealand committee are very proud to announce Latafale as the winner for 2014-2015.

Only 20 years old, Latafale is currently in her third year of studying towards a double degree in Law and Music, majoring in Performing Arts at Otago University in Dunedin.

Originally from Auckland, Latafale's villages in Samoa are Tiavea/Saleaumua, Vailoa, Faleata, and Satupa’itea/Siufaga.

This is an opportunity to be able to speak and encourage younger females in succeeding in the competitive working and study environment that is presented in the 21st century. We have a beautiful spirit of humility in the Samoan culture that should continue to be nurtured but not be a hindrance to achievement and good work.

Latafale was crowned by the reigning Miss Samoa New Zealand, Margaret Sarona Scott, at a special crowning ceremony in Auckland last month.
